Limitations

  • Blank lines are always treated as paragraph breaks and preserved; every other line break is joined.
  • On text with unusual formatting (like poetry or code), review the result — it cannot tell a deliberate short line from an accidental one.

Can I keep the paragraph breaks?
Yes. By default blank lines between paragraphs are preserved, and only the line breaks inside a paragraph are removed.
Can I turn lines into a comma-separated list instead?
Not on this page — it always joins with a space. For a comma- or tab-separated result, use the Clean lists tool instead.
What happens to a bullet list if I run this?
Each bullet becomes part of the running paragraph text — use Clean lists first if you want to keep items on separate lines.
Does it add a space where lines are joined?
Yes. A single space is inserted between the last word of one line and the first word of the next, so words never get glued together.
Does it handle text with mixed Windows, Mac and Unix line breaks?
Yes. Every line-ending style is normalized to one format first, so text pasted from different apps and operating systems joins correctly.
