Clean Copied Text

Limitations

  • Only simple standalone page numbers on their own line are removed; numbers mixed into a line of text are left untouched.

Frequently asked questions

Does Clean Copied Text upload my PDF or text?
No. This tool works on text you paste in — copy it from your PDF viewer first. If you would rather upload the PDF file itself, use the Extract text from PDF tool, which also runs entirely in your browser.
Can this remove page numbers?
It can remove simple standalone page numbers when they are detected on their own line.
Will it preserve paragraphs?
The PDF cleanup mode tries to preserve blank lines as paragraph breaks while joining lines that were broken inside paragraphs.
Does it also work for text copied from an e-book reader?
Yes — e-book and document readers that wrap text into single lines produce the same broken-paragraph pattern, and the same rejoin logic applies.
Will it remove a header repeated on every page?
Only if the header sits alone on its own line; a header combined with body text on the same line is left as-is.
